The senator representing Lagos State Senatorial district admonished Nigerians on the new normal of life in which we have to adapt and adopted to, which is the reality the world is presently being faced with, COVID-19, particularly this second wave, which is fast spreading.
Mrs Oluremi Tinubu made this known at her empowerment program that sees the fifty Chiefs in Lagos Central Senatorial district being empowered with fifty mini-buses, that: if we stay here we die. If we move ahead is either we die or we live.
Citizens Media, the growing community based media in Surulere posed a question to Senator Oluremi Tinubu on the state of the nation: how she see Nigeria in the next 10 years, amidst today’s challenges.
Mrs Tinubu described the question as a very intelligent one, that is coming from a sound Youth, who have passion for journalism and development of Nigeria. She said: we have a very fescennine people, it is the people who are faint hearted that cannot really go out.
Mrs Tinubu continue by saying: if we stay here we die, if we move ahead is either we die or live. COVID-19 has come to stay, and it has come to the stage that we are not suppose to be afraid of death, what is expected from us as a Citizens of this country is to do the needful by sanitising our hands regularly, washing our hands with soap and clean water.
The world has recorded more than two million death. So we don’t know where we are, and if it is in that basis, should we stop living because people are dying? No. Mrs Oluremi Tinubu revert with a strong adverb, not at all.
And today empowerment program is an indication towards the direction of what we are proving to the world. We should not be afraid to die, if death comes today, make sure you don’t sit down and be waiting for it. Mrs Tinubu made this statement at Surulere Local Government, with the Host Chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf Ajide who sat close to her, being one of her trusted political friend and childhood friend. She counsel teaming Nigerians that we should go out there and change the narratives in our respected community and continue to give live and hope of living to other people.
